Montclair Art Museum offers the first Thursday night of the month free to tour current exhibits and enjoy dynamic programming. Maplewood Chili Cookoff – Think you make a mean chili? This is your chance to find out how your best meat or vegetarian chili stacks up against the competition, as judged by your peers. Top prize is a $500 Whole Foods gift card! The entry fee covers the chili tasting and live music. There is a cash bar. Proceeds support the Interfaith Food Pantry of the Oranges. The 15th annual Taste of the World is sponsored by the West Orange Rotary Club and held at Mayfair Farms. The event includes sampling from forty different food and wine distributors. Proceeds go toward college scholarships for local high school students. Monday, February 25, 6:00 – 9:00pm
Beauty and the Beast, a production of the Panto Company USA, is performed at the South Orange Performing Arts. In the beloved story of Beauty & the Beast, the beautiful Belle finds herself in a spell-bound castle held captive by a beast. Philadelphia Flower Show at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia PA, is one of the biggest spring flower show in the area. It is the nation’s largest and longest-running horticultural event and features stunning displays by the world’s premier floral and landscape designers. It has been honored as the best event in the world by the International Festivals & Events Association. March 2-10
4th Annual SOMA Film Festival showcases independent narrative and documentary films at various locations in Maplewood and South Orange. There are over 100 films shown during this event which kicks off with a Wednesday night soiree. March 20-24, times vary
