I hope you are enjoying this beautiful fall weather. Halloween is coming and my daughter has already purchased her second costume. My “Fifties Girl” decided to trade in her poodle skirt for a “Little Bo Peep” ensemble. Now I just have to come up with a sheep costume for our dog so he can accompany her. I need to get some holiday spirit fast!

Here are some ideas for Halloween fun in the area:

Maplewood: Annual Halloween Parade and Costume Contest, Wednesday, October 31 from 3-5. Maplewood Ave. between Durand Rd. and Baker St.

South Orange: South Orange Halloween Festival, Wednesday, October 31 from 4-6 at Spiotta Park.

Millburn/Short Hills: Millburn Fire Department’s Halloween Parade, Sunday, October 28 from 11-3 at Taylor Park. Pre-Registration for kids is required and the deadline is TODAY. Call 973-564-7043 for details.

Stony Hill Corn Maze, 15 North Rd., Chester, NJ. Pick your own farm nearby. Open select days through mid November from 10-6. Go to www.njcornmaze.com for more details.

A Halloween Ghost Walk, Grover Cleveland Birthplace, Caldwell, NJ. The Grover Cleveland Birthplace Memorial Association presents “A Halloween Ghost Walk”. Guided tours by James Gardner will take you on a half-mile walk from Arlington Avenue to the Cloverleaf Tavern, revealing unbelievable but true stories about the neighborhood. Tours start at 5, 5:30, 6, 6:30 and 7 p.m. (7:30 tour sold out!), $10 adults, $5 for children under 13.Tours must be reserved in advance.

The market has been really busy. I see things going under contract quickly. Example, two of three houses I was supposed to show to one family this Sunday are in attorney review already. I have some nice listings coming on the market, including an adorable “walk to town” house in Maplewood and the rentals at The Station House on Dunnell Rd., Maplewood.

My September 2012 Market Snapshot for your town is attached. If you have any questions on what’s happening in your neighborhood real estate market please give me a call.

By the way, I am never too busy for you referrals and would appreciate the chance to work with your friends, neighbors and co-workers.

Happy Halloween!
