Maplewood Art Walk

Maplewood Art Walk

Here’s some inside advice: If you are thinking of moving to Maplewood, NJ from Brooklyn, Manhattan, Hudson County or from out of state, Maplewood’s spring and summer events and festivals are a great way to check out the town and see if it’s a fit for you. These events can give you a true window into what the town is all about.

We kicked off the event season with one of the states biggest and best green fairs, Maplewood GreenDay. The town pride’s itself on its environmental consciousness and GreenDay is the ultimate manifestation of this effort.

Coming up next weekend is North Jersey Pride which is also held in Maplewood. Known as a very gay friendly place this event is totally grass roots and is geared toward families and adults as well.

Maplewood’s 4th of July is so old-school and classic, with pie eating contests, the bike parade, circus and other activities going on in the park all day topped off by our awesome fireworks show. Sponsored by the Maplewood Civic Association you can visit this site for details or to volunteer:

One of my favorite events is scheduled for the 13th and 14th of July this year, Maplewoodstock, a weekend long live music festival with vendors and food of course, is also held in the park. (I happen to be sponsoring the event for the 2nd year in a row.) See for schedules and details.

Finally, on September 29 Maplewood Art Walk comes to the Village. Enjoy the picturesque shopping and dining available in town while seeing the work of local artists and arts organizations on display. See for the scoop.

So in a nutshell, Maplewood is town that values community, history, the arts, inclusivity and is a socially conscious place to be. If you think you’d like to learn more about living in Maplewood attend one of these summer events. You might just decide Maplewood is the town for you. I’d be happy to give you a tour of the community and some homes as well. Visit my website for my contact information. Allison Ziefert’s website:
