Coming soon – Sprout!
Offering salads, wraps and bowls made with love and fresh, local ingredients, this new restaurant is planning to open its doors the first week in November 2017. Located in the heart of Maplewood Village, Sprout will offer seating for 34 to dine in and enjoy delicious, healthy offerings within their newly renovated restaurant. In addition to the dining room experience, Sprout will offer on-line ordering for pick-up only.
The menu choices will be healthy and interesting with lots of protein available within each selection. Local, high quality ingredients will be used and all the offerings will be made from scratch. Many of the menu items will have “The Crunch Factor” and will have croutons, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds or some other crunchy option such as radish, cabbage and celery.
Some of the delicious menu items include The Nagano Bowl which has noodles, rainbow carrots, edamame and scallions with a cabbage crunch. The Sedona Bowl includes Cabo dressing with flavors of avocado, kale, lime, jalapeño & cilantro. The Palermo includes steak, onions, radishes and blue cheese as well as a few surprises and a fresh dressing to give the salad depth and flavor. Carrot ribbons and root vegetables will be prominent in the dressings and salads.
Todd Marvel, owner of Sprout, is extremely excited about the impending opening of his new restaurant. Coming from the financial services industry, opening a restaurant is a new experience for Todd. But he has always had a passion for food and hosting, as well as cooking for friends and family. Todd and his family have lived in the Maplewood/South Orange area for more than 10 years, and he is looking forward to providing his local community with quality, healthy food choices.
Determined to help his new restaurant succeed, Todd’s first hire is an experienced general manager, Singe Heffernan, who also happens to be a Maplewood native. She has opened many restaurants in New York and Boston, and is excited to be opening Sprout in Maplewood. Todd is currently looking to hire additional staff – particularly during the daytime shift. No experience is necessary, just good people who can be coached.
So keep a look-out for the grand opening of Sprout in November.
