New Providence offers residents a wonderful place to call home with beautiful residential neighborhoods. It has the benefit of being less densely populated than neighboring suburbs with plenty of restaurants, cafes and parks. The New Providence borough neighbors Summit and Berkeley Heights on the Passaic River in Union County and has a total area of 3.71 square miles (9.61 km2). The population is approximately 12,000. Most residents own their homes and residents tend to have moderate political views.

The Vibe

New Providence has a relaxed feel with a variety of stores centered in and around the Village Shopping Center. There are some great locally owned businesses including the Providence Bar and Kitchen, Zita’s, a popular homemade ice-cream store, and a high-end market and butcher called Barth’s Market, plus a high quality hair salon Yoni Kreger.

Also locally owned, is a brewery called The Untied Brewing Co, which showcases local beers and brews and adds a lively energy to the town encouraging the public to come and sample their products. There are national store fronts including Pure Barre, Chopt, Orange Theory, Smashburger.
